Ako Ay Nagluluksa . . .

I Am In Mourning
English by Quark

Iyan po si MrLeach. (That is MrLeach)
Ang dakilang linta. (The great leech)
. . aba, pumanaw na! (One of the profound translators of my story has died!)

Matagal ko syang hinanap . . . (It took me a long time to find him) Hinahanap-hanap ko ang amoy nya. (I try to sniff for his scent. . .) Pero paano mo ma-aamoy ang walang buhay? (But how can you sniff something that is already dead?) (When anyone dies, they bring their scent with them!)

(That was what happened to my late mate Pica and my pup Bogart) Noong namatay sila, halos naglaho rin ang amoy nila . . . (When they died, their scent vanished as well. . .)

(That is why some people say that animals like dogs can easily accept death when we immediately leave our dying and dead loved ones!) Pero maling akala iyun! (But that is not true!) Hindi namin sila maamoy kaya agad kaming umaalis. (We just can not sense their scent that is why we leave) Pero ang totoo, katulad ng tao, matagal din namin hinahanap-hanap ang nawawala naming mahal . . . (But the truth is, we really take a long time to pine for our departed loved ones, just like people . . .)

. . (So when I saw MrLeach in the balcony without life, it made me sad for a long time . . .)

Pagkakulit-kulit ka man (Even if you are pesky)
at saksakan ng kakulitan . . . (and so irritating)
minahal din kita, MrLeach. (. . . I loved you MrLeach)
Sa mga salita mong mistulang nagpapatawa . . .
(with your words that attempt at humor. . .)
katulad mo rin akong (I am just like you)
nagkukubli sa katawa-tawa
sa mundong mababaw . . .
(. . . hiding behind the satire of a shallow world)
at sa ating pagtanaw sa mundong
saksakan ng kakulitan . . .
(
as we view the world that is full of quirks . . .)
Paalam Leach . . . (Goodbye, Leach)
hanggang sa muli nating pagkikita . . .
(until we see each other again . . .)
