Ang Bag na Sako. . .

The Sack Bag
translated by Bogart

This is the bag that Luchie would take out from somewhere every week. Yes, you are not mistaken! It is a rice sack made into a bag which she loves to use when she goes to the market. I'm sure you are aware by now how the people in our house are too keen at recycling!

Oh, even if it looks worn, that bag was able to carry a lot of foodstuff! It fits everything, it is handy, easy to clean and when Luchie starts clutching those folded bags in the morning, I am sure she will go out and head for the market!

Naku, Luchie, bili mo ko ha!
Hey Luchie, buy me something!

But what is it you want me to buy for you?

Aba, kahit na ano! Alam mo naman ang paborito ko. Lahat naman nang niluluto mo paborito ko! Uwi ka agad ha!
Oh anything! You know what I like. And anything you cook for me is my favorite! Hurry home!

Oh, this will be a long wait. I hope she does not get lost or get sidetracked somewhere!

Naku, eto naman si Loyd o! Aba mistulang aalis din!
Oh-oh, here comes Loyd who seems to be leaving too!

Aba, ang loka! Hindi man lang nagpa-alam!
Look at that crazy woman leave without a word!

Oh, if anything happens to you outside and you don't even say where you are going! You know how I get stressed out every time you leave??? Look, my hairs are turning white with worry!

And here comes the gas delivery boy and there's no one home!

Eh, magkano na ba ang gas mo??? P650!!!
And how much is your gas tank now??? P650!!! (Note: P47 to $1) Hey, I am not buying your life! If you sell your gas that high, we will not cook anymore!

Naku, na-imbiyerna na naman ako! Teka, maka-alis nga!
Ohh, I got stressed out again! I better leave now!

Naku, pasintabi muna sa mga tao diyan.
Meron lang akong gagawin pampa-alis ng inis.
Huwag kayong tumingin kung ayaw nyo ha.
Sandali lang ito. . .
Oh, please excuse me people.
I have to do something to relieve my stress.
Don't look if you don't want to.
This won't take long. . .

Ahhh, salamat!
Nakaraos din!
Ahhh, thanks a lot!
I felt relieved at last!

Ay, buhay na ulit ako!
Oh, I'm alive again!

I am now ready to wait for those who left . . . most especially for the return of those sack bags which I am sure will be filled with mouth-watering food for me!
